Nicole Devine
Nicole is excited to be teaching at Amera's Palace in 2006. She aims to inspire and develop her students into confident and individual dancers for fun & fitness or a more serious undertaking. Nicole had a strong commitment to rejuvenating and passing on Egyptian Dance techniques developed by the unforgettable Dancers of the last century. Technique taught in class will allow the student to analyse the movement and adapt the execution to suit their own body shape and dance style. Her background in dance started at the age of 4 spending most of her school years studying Classical Ballet ,Tap, Ballroom and National Character. Coming form a family with musical ability Nicole studied several musical instruments which has helped her understand Orchestral Middle Eastern Dance Music, the use of choreography and the importance of achieving improvisational confidence.
Nicole has been performing professionally for the past 3 years in her resident
work she employs the use of Arabic, Turkish, Greek and Macedonian music and she loves working with live musicians. This Xmas she was employed to Belly Dance (wearing galabah of course) in a nativity play for a local church she considers this to be one of her greatest achievements as her dance has been excepted by the wider community as a celebrative dance without misconceptions. Nicole continues to enrich her dance through studying and further developing Egyptian Belly Dance techniques and choreography. In class she will also integrate Yoga techniques to help the body and mind master new movement and overcome performance apprehension.
Nicole has expressed that she looks forward to meeting you this year and
assisting your journey in dance.
